South Carolina Business Starts Kindness Program For Free Cookies
Doing small acts of kindness can make a huge impact on people’s lives. It’s often the little things that count the most when it comes to making a difference. Whether it’s a smile, a compliment, or a small gesture of appreciation, these acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day and make them feel valued.
According to WYFF 4, Cameron Kendrick, the owner of Good To Go Greenville in South Carolina, has started what she’s calling the Kindness Club. On Fridays, school-aged kids can come into her grab and go market with a note from someone they know describing an act of kindness they’ve performed and as a reward they get a free chocolate chip cookie.
Kendrick, who is also a mother of three, believes that being kind is every bit as important as going well in school. “These things seem very small, but I can tell that when the moms and dads are explaining it,” she says, “They see the smile their child has, and the confidence boost it’s given them.”
Since starting the program a few months ago, kids have earned cookies for various kind gestures, like being nice to their siblings or friends. It’s Kendrick’s hope that the kids will always remember why they’re being rewarded. “Knowing they’re being recognized,” she explains, “It makes me feel incredibly fulfilled as a mom, and a local business owner.”
So, next time you have the opportunity to do something kind for someone else, take it. You never know how much of an impact your small act of kindness can make on someone’s life.
