- They compared all 50 states and Washington, D.C. on 32 key metrics related to the areas of quality and safety.
- South Carolina landed in the top 10 worst school systems. It scored a 42 overall score. 44 in quality and 30 in safety
- Massachusetts comes in first once again, making it the best state for public schools in 2023. It’s number one for both quality and safety.
- The worst is New Mexico, which ranks dead last for quality and in the bottom 10 for safety.
