Zoo In China Promises Their Viral “Human” Bear Is Real
It bear-ly seems plausible…A zoo in China has been addressing allegations that a bear in its habitat exhibit is actually a person wearing a bear costume.
Humans have had a fascination with animals for centuries, and the zoo provides a unique opportunity for people to interact with animals they may not otherwise have a chance to see up close. There is something about being in the presence of a majestic lion or playful dolphin that can inspire awe and affection in even the most jaded of visitors.
In addition to the thrill of seeing animals in person, zoos also provide educational opportunities for visitors of all ages.
Finally, the zoo can be a great family-friendly outing, allowing parents to spend quality time with their children while learning and having fun together. The is an animal at a zoo in China patrons weren’t planning to see.
According to the NY Post and KTLA5 a video of the animal went viral recently showing the furry gal standing on its hind legs and crudely waving at confused onlookers. And it does in fact look like someone in a bear suit.
Hangzhou Zoo addressed the criticism by issuing a statement from “Angela” the Malaysian sun bear. “Some people think I stand like a person. It seems you don’t understand me very well,” adding, “If a person did wear a bear costume, they would be lying down within minutes due to the heat.” Furthermore, an employee of the zoo says visits are being set up for reporters to view the bear themselves.
