What It Means When You Dream About Your Ex
You broke up with someone recently or maybe even a few years ago. So what does it means when you dream about your ex?
There’s no telling when an ex may pop up… including in your dreams. It can feel especially awk if this dream happens while you’re sleeping next to your current boo! What does it mean?! HelloGiggles spoke with a psychologist and dream expert Manuella Schmitten to find out what it means.
- It could mean you’re processing life lessons. Dreaming about a past relationship can be a subconscious way of processing lessons learned and experienced with your ex.
- IRL relationship concerns. It could also mean you have similar relationship concerns with your current SO. We dream about things that concern us most, meaning “you’re more likely to dream about your ex than your current partner” says Schmitten.
- You bumped into your ex. Especially with social media, it’s easier to bump into your ex either IRL or online than before. Seeing them could trigger a dream of them.
- There’s unfinished business. Do you have an unresolved issue from your past relationship? It doesn’t necessarily mean you have feelings for them still. But if you dream about fighting with an ex, you could be dealing with issues in your current relationship you need to address.
- You’re craving more intimacy. This, obviously, depends on which circumstances your ex appeared to you in your dream. If it was sexual, well, you may be wanting a little more IRL.
