Low Speed Dump Truck Chase on I485!
Did you happen to see the dump truck low speed police chase on I485 yesterday? It started after rush hour around 10am.
Now a Lancaster, man is facing multiple charges after police said he led officers on a low-speed chase from Pineville.
Police said they were following a large off-road dump truck. It was reported stolen from a worksite in Lancaster on Sunday. Officers spotted the truck Monday and tried to stop the driver. Police said the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Brett James Catoe, refused to stop, leading a chase onto the outer loop of Interstate 485. I’m glad no one was hurt.
We actually heard from a listener who said she and her kids saw it. They thought the police were escorting the truck, that’s how slow they were going haha!
Back in 2017 an Oregon man took police on a chase in a backhoe and lost.
The chase lasted more than 30 miles, before getting caught by police. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office tells KGW8 39-year-old Mitchell Johnston allegedly stole the backhoe and drove it on Highway 217, I-5 and I-205 to Clackamas on Sunday before being spotted by an Oregon State Police trooper.
Johnston was driving 10 to 20 miles an hour on the wrong side of the road when he was pulled over and arrested. He was driving with a revoked license.
