This List Has Problems: Americans’ Favorite Barbecue Dishes
There’s a good bet a lot of Americans will be going to Fourth of July barbecues this weekend, and while food options can vary depending on the host, there are some dishes folks would prefer to be served.
- A new YouGov survey set out to discover America’s favorite barbecue dishes.
- They polled 16,000 Americans and burgers were definitely the top choice.
- Overall, 65% of Americans chose burgers as their favorite barbecue dish, followed by:
- Hot dogs (49%)
- Ribs (48%)
- Sausages (37%)
- Chicken wings (32%)
- Pulled pork (29%)
- Brisket (27%)
- Pork cops (16%)
- Turkey burger (11%)
- Plant-based burger (9%)
Of course every good barbecue needs a side dish, with potato salad being the top choice (62%), followed by:

- Baked beans (52%)
- Watermelon (48%)
- Chips (48%)
- Macaroni and cheese (41%)
- Cole slaw (41%)
- Pasta salad (36%)
- Green salad (34%)
