Davis Becomes First Black Head Coach in UNC Men’s Basketball History
Hubert Davis is the first black head coach in UNC men’s basketball history.
The school made the announcement today saying Davis will replace Roy Williams as the Tar Heels’ new leader. Davis has been an assistant coach under Williams for the past nine seasons. Williams retired last week. You can see more of the story here.

Former coach Williams retired last week after 18 seasons at Carolina and 33 seasons total as a head coach. He felt he was “the right man for the job.”
