Skull Sitting As Decoration On A Mantle Is Actually That Of A Missing Man
A skull that had been sitting on a Tennessee fireplace mantle since last year is actually the remains of a missing man.
The skull has been identified as belonging to a man who went missing back in 2012. After receiving a tip, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office took custody of the skull, which they noted was wearing sunglasses. They ran DNA tests and were only recently able to confirm the identity.
District Attorney General Russell Johnson posted on Facebook yesterday the skull is that of Junior Will McCann. A search of the area turned up no further remains. McCann is believed to have been killed by a relative who has also since passed away.
The person who’d been displaying the skull all this time says they got it from someone else who found it. No arrests have been announced.
