LauRen and Nicole Got Called Out
While we were in Chicago for Morning Show Boot Camp, Nicole and I did a lot of walking. We were staying at a different hotel from the boys and the convention center, so we had a nice 10 min walk every morning. Friday morning Nicole and I decided to go shopping at my favorite store (Zara) and grab coffee before heading over to our sessions for the day. However, on our way we had a strange interaction with someone on the street.
When we were approaching an intersection and about to cross the street, someone said to me, “Where is the champagne?” I looked behind me to see who he was talking to, and another girl walked up to him, so I assumed he was talking to her. So, I laughed it off and said, “I don’t know, but if you have champagne, I’m coming with you!”
As we were walking away, Nicole heard the man say, “Charlotte radio,” which further confused us because he didn’t look familiar, and we knew he wasn’t there for our radio convention. Nicole and I then joked about how if I ever got taken, it would be over a bottle of champagne.
It had NEVER occurred to me that this person was someone from Charlotte. I thought maybe someone saw my location tag of my hotel (which I know was dumb to post), but I was on Insta crowing about how my hotel was built to look like a champagne bottle during prohibition. It was right on “brand” for me!
Anyway, fast forward to Monday, and Roy received a message from a listener who happened to be in Chicago at the same time we were, and he had a completely different experience on that same corner!
