North Carolina Brewery is Turning into a Winter Wonderland This Week
It’s time for a beautiful winter brew wonderland at this local North Carolina brewery! Ring your holiday bells because Highland Brewing is transforming its East Asheville brewery into a winter wonderland this week. This is in honor of Cold Mountain Spiced Winter Ale. Yum!
This will be the 25th anniversary of a beer that Highland first produced as a holiday treat for the staff in 1996. In honor of the book “Cold Mountain” by Charles Frazier and the mountain itself, Highland changed the name from Holiday Ale to Cold Mountain Winter Ale in 1997. This spiced brown ale’s release has become a seasonal tradition that still draws crowds from North Carolina and across the Southeast.
According to the press release, “We started receiving messages in May asking about the dates for the Cold Mountain release,” said Nikki Mitchell, Highland’s Hospitality Director. “Our team is working to make this 25th-anniversary celebration special. We’re transforming the brewery taproom into a ski lodge and the tented beer garden in the Meadow offers an incredible music lineup. We have the brewery exclusive beers on draft, Super Spice Cold Mountain in packages this year, and blue glass liter bottles available a la carte! The downtown taproom turned winter wonderland has a flights and bites event as well.” Here is the schedule for this winter wonderful week of events!
