Avicii Has Died At 28 Years Of Age
The Grammy Nominated EDM artist who had many mainstream hits has died at the age of 28.
Avicii’s reps issued a statement, shared by TMZ, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
He had recently retired at the age of 26 due to health-related issues, from acute pancreatitis, which was semi-due to excessive drinking according to Billboard. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, and he canceled a series of shows in an attempt to recover.
He told Billboard after he retired “I just feel happy. I feel free at this point. Like I have my private life back and focusing on myself for the first time in a long time.”
It is unclear what his death is a result of, whether it was health-related issues, or some sort of death toward mental issues. We will keep you updated as information continues to come down.
