Top 10 Most Dangerous Christmas Songs To Drive To
Christmas songs can be hard to get away from this time of year, with every store we enter and ad we see on TV using them from November till the New Year. This can definitely be annoying, but it turns out, some holiday tunes may also be risky when you’re behind the wheel. A new study reveals the most dangerous Christmas songs to drive to during the holiday season.
Researchers with the South China University of Technology warn that listening to fast music while driving may be unsafe. Specifically, they‘ve found that seasonal songs faster than 120 beats per minute can encourage dangerous driving habits.
- To help protect people on the road, study authors analyzed a long list that reportedly includes every classic Christmas tune.
- While we may enjoy the high-energy tracks, these experts caution that some fast-paced festive tunes are more likely to distract us while driving.
- The research suggests these songs can “have psychological and cardiovascular effects that may increase the likelihood of the kind of driving that results in increased accidents.”
- The worst offender? The seemingly innocent 1950s classic “Frosty The Snowman,” which is deemed the “most dangerous” to dive to with its 172 beats-per-minute tempo.
- We may not hear that one as often in the car, but the second most dangerous song is the “Queen of Christmas” Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
