Happy belated birthday, Ella Mai! The English R&B singer/songwriter celebrated her 30th birthday on November 3 and gave us all a gift instead. She released a surprise EP, “3,” for her fans in honor of the day. This was the first new music from Mai in a few years since her album, Heart On My Sleeve, in 2022.
Ella Mai took to social media to announce her surprise EP with a special birthday post. The photo shared for the EP is a profile picture of her with the number 3 tattoo behind her ear. The number is not only her favorite number, but it also refers to personal growth and evolution.

Of course, along with good news comes a bit of social media investigators as well. The cover photo of the EP also brought attention to Mai’s relationship with NBA player, Jayson Tatum. Following the photo, fans noticed that the singer has a similar tattoo to Tatum.
The couple has been known to be together but keeps their relationship pretty much under wraps when it comes to the public eye. Mai allegedly had a child for Tatum earlier this year after being in a relationship with the NBA player for the past few years. Neither Mai nor Tatum have ever officially confirmed the relationship, but photos of the pair have circulated the internet quite a few times.
What’s in store for the singer/songwriter next? Hopefully, more new music. Social media has shown a positive reaction to the recent EP and many are wanting more and anticipating the next album from the English singer.
