But if you find yourself clicking on familiar titles year after year, you’re in good company and psychologists say there’s a good reason for that.
"Holiday movies tap into tradition... triggering nostalgia for 'the good old days' when things seemed simpler, kinder and slower," explains Pamela Rutledge, director of the Media Psychology Research Center. "The human brain is funny. It tends to remember happy events with a bit of fairy dust, amplifying the glow and heightening our enjoyment of positive memories.”
So watching the same old Christmas movies every year becomes a tradition of its own. These beloved classics make us feel good and help relieve some of the stress that comes with the holidays. A new poll from Yahoo/YouGov reveals the most rewatched holiday movies. And while it doesn’t settle the debate on whether “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie or not, it does earn a spot in the top 10.

Best Christmas Movies Of All Time, According To Rotten Tomatoes
We all have our different opinions when it comes to the best Christmas movies of all time, but when it comes to the TRUTH, we can lean on Rotten Tomatoes.
We've all been there, looking up a movie's Rotten Tomatoes rating to see what we're in store for. There have even been some movies that I've looked up and seen a Rotten Tomatoes rating so low that I haven't even bothered watching it. When it comes to Christmas movies, you never know what you're going to get. In my opinion, the movies are one of the best parts of the holiday season.
There are the classics like Home Alone, The Grinch and Elf that you can't argue with. But Rotten Tomatoes released a list of the 100 best Christmas movies of all time. I was surprised by a lot of these. I haven't seen the majority of them, but I now have a new bucket list!
