North Carolina’s Most Popular Thanksgiving Side Is Surprising
With Thanksgiving just a week away already, people are getting serious about their menus. I grew up in New Jersey. Our favorite side at our dinner table was fruit salad. I know. Weird. When I moved to North Carolina I thought for sure, mac and cheese or cornbread or even sweet potato would be most popular. While turkey is the centerpiece of most dinners for this holiday, the feast is nothing without the side dishes. Some make an appearance on the table every year on Turkey Day and new research reveals what the most popular sides are. North Carolina’s most popular Thanksgiving Side is a little surprising.

- Green bean casserole tops the list, it’s the most-searched side in 19 states. Including North Carolina!
- Corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, and mac and cheese are also popular searches for holiday sides.
