How To Have A Bare Minimum Monday While Still Being Productive
By now, you’ve probably heard of Bare Minimum Monday. It went viral on TikTok as a way to cure the Sunday scaries, by doing the absolute least amount of work possible on Monday while still being productive. In theory it’s a great trend. But by doing the least amount of work possible on Monday, you may be setting yourself up for more work later in the week.
The good news is that there are ways for you to still have a Bare Minimum Monday and be productive. How? Here are five ways.
- Plan ahead on Friday. By Friday, you likely know what’s in store for you the next week. Take some time to plan ahead, like meal prepping over the weekend if you know you’re going to be too busy.
- Have a solid morning and after-work routine. This will give you the reset you need to get in the zone and do everything you have to do the following day.
- Prioritize tasks in order of urgency and importance. Long to-do lists are overwhelming. Figure out which tasks are actually urgent and important. Separate those from the ones that are not urgent and important and urgent but not important. Do those first.
- Try time-blocking your week. Block off a certain amount of time for each task you need to do. Schedule your day out and give yourself time to finish one task before going to the next.
- Don’t let Monday dictate the rest of the week. Remember, there’s only so much you can control. Everyone has good days and bad days, so if your Monday wasn’t the best, remember the rest of your days don’t need to be the same.
I tried to do Bare Minimum Monday… and then I had a super-packed Tuesday! Maybe I’ll try it again with these tips.
