Imagine having a nice lunch on the water when all of a sudden you hear the Jaws theme song, and the next thing you know you are being circled by sharks!

Sounds like something you'd see on Shark Week. Shark Week is an annual event on the Discovery Channel that celebrates the fascinating creatures of the deep. It has become a highly anticipated week-long programming event, drawing in millions of viewers from around the world. Since its inception in 1988, Shark Week has been a platform for scientists, researchers, and experts to share their knowledge and insights about these magnificent creatures, while also dispelling myths and stereotypes about sharks.

During Shark Week, viewers can expect to see a wide range of programming, from educational documentaries to thrilling shark attack reenactments. You know who wasn't expecting to see sharks? Diners at a restaurant in Hilton Head!

According to WSAV News, Diners at a coastal South Carolina restaurant are still talking about a surprise viewing of a live "Shark Week" performance this week. Video captured by Steve Wonser showed about five sharks swimming in circles near the dock at Hudson's Seafood in Hilton Head Island on Monday. Diners remained a safe distance from the sharks. This comes on the heels of a shark attack in the area recently.

If this shark sighting was a little too close for comfort and you'd rather enjoy these creatures on TV, ironically, Shark Week is next week! Some of the most popular shows include "Air Jaws," which features stunning footage of great white sharks leaping out of the water to catch their prey, and "Shark After Dark," a talk show that discusses the day's events and features celebrity guests.
