Welcome To Jurassic Park: Man Pulls Prehistoric Fish Out Of River
A man hoping to score a catfish ended up with something a little more Jurassic instead. Chandler Lee Tudor was fishing along the Missouri River when he reeled in a 4-foot lake sturgeon. These fish are considered living dinosaurs as they reportedly existed as long as 200 million years ago. Even more unsettling, they can grow up to 8 feet long and up to 300 pounds.
Tudor didn’t serve his Cretaceous catch for dinner, however. The Missouri man was ordered to release the dino-fish back into the water as they’re protected as an endangered species, according to The Missouri Department of Conservation.
