If You’re Always Texting First, Here’s Why You Should Stop
There’s no harm in texting, right? Well, there can be, especially if you’re always the one texting first. Relationships involve two people and should involve effort on both signs. According to Bolde, if you’re always the one initiating – or you’re always the one double-or-triple texting someone, you may want to stop. Why? Here are six reasons.
- If they were interested, you’d hear from them. It’s a harsh truth, but more times than not, it tends to be true.
- You’re setting a really bad precedent. By allowing them to just respond on their own time, you’re creating an unequal dynamic.
- They’re not adding anything to the relationship. Seriously, what are you even getting out of this?
- They’re taking you for granted. They assume that you’ll always reach out and be initiative-taking, so they don’t need to do anything.
- They obviously have other things (or people) on their minds. If they’re not finding the time for you, they’re spending that time instead on other things, which could include other people.
- They don’t respect you or your time. You’re busy too, and they’re clearly not respecting that.
