Gen Z Ranks Improving Mental Health As Top New Year’s Resolution
Gone are the days of making New Year’s resolutions like hitting the gym more, and here are the days of making mental health part of your resolution… at least it is for Gen Z. A new poll of 1,005 adults from Forbes health saw that most Gen Zers, and some millennials, are saying goodbye not just to 2022, but to traditional New Year’s resolutions. The poll found:
- 50% of Gen Z have a New Year’s resolution to work on improving their mental health
- 49% of millennials said they have a resolution to take care of their mental health
- 45% of all respondents said that improving their mental health is one of their top resolutions for 2023
- 33% of Gen Z listed improve diet as their top goal
- 30% of millennials said improve diet was their number one resolution
“The survey findings suggest a cultural shift in what Americans value when it comes to wellness, pushing back against the idea that health is measured simply by the number on the scale,” Forbes Health writes.
