What Should You Order At The Bar? Not These Drinks!

When you are just first starting out as a newly 21-year0-old  it can be hard to know what to order at a bar. One time I ordered a jack and Coke and I didn't even drink soda. I just panicked. After all those frat parties didn't give you a choice for your drinks!  You drank what they had. Which is kind of terrifying thinking about it now. But if you see a bartender roll their eyes or let out a heavy sigh, there's a chance you may have ordered something they hate making. Maybe the drink is overly complicated, or maybe it's boring. Eat This, Not That spoke with bartenders across the U.S. to find out which cocktails they hate making the most:

Obviously, if it's on the menu or at the appropriate place (ie a Bloody Mary at a brunch place or Pina Colada at an island resort), then that's different. Which of these drinks do you order at a bar? How often do you go to bars?

Happy National Vodka Day! It's October 4th and we today celebrate the liquor brand we know and love today. Typically if I'm going to order a cocktail I go for something vodka-based. And that 9 times out of 10 will be a vodka soda with a lime. More specifically a Titos soda with a lime. I'm a creature of habit and know what I like. This is partly due to the fact that I just can't drink sweet drinks the way I once could ( and would still like to). And also for the low-calorie benefits of the drink. But while I'm stuck in my rut and chances are you are too, there are so many good vodka-based cocktails you can try!

So I went to the go-to source for any information- TikTok- to help find some more *fun* different vodka cocktails to try. Most of these are shown being made at home, but almost all of them can be ordered at your standard bar as well. Some are sweet, but I kept in mind that not everyone enjoys that as well. I think the first or last of these drinks are what I'll opt to try first. Cheers to National Vodka Day!

Shirley Temple's aren't just for kids! Add some vodka to that Sprite and a splash of grenadine and you're in for a tasty refreshing cocktail. And perhaps one that remind you of your favorite childhood mocktail.

You'll be transported straight to the islands (at least mentally) with this tropical tito cocktail. Tito's (or your choice of vodka), limeade, and some pineapple juice. That sounds so much more enjoyable than a fall that feels like winter.

It may not be summer anymore but clearly, it still is in my mind! And it doesn't get more refreshing than watermelon.

Whenever I drink a cosmo I feel like I am the epitome of class. Maybe it's the Sex In The City vibes, the pink color, or the fancy class. I'm not sure but I just know it makes me feel like I can conquer the world.

While I have always loved sweet drinks I just can't drink them the way I used to. But add in a little lemon tart, and you can't go wrong!

With a name like the Great Gatsby it has to be good. And blood orange always takes a drink to the next level!

While somewhat basic, the Moscow Mule has become a classic and for good reason. Vodka, ginger beer, and lime make for a refreshing, light cocktail that isn't fruit or sweet!

Even if I could only handle the sweetness of one, this would be my drink of choice always. I love strawberry lemonade and adding vodka is just the chef's kiss. In fact, this may be what I choose to celebrate National Vodka Day with.

Yes I know the only thing more "boring" than my go-to Titos soda with a lime in vodka water. But if you're planning ahead you can get a tasty drink that's low in calories. Order thank vodka water and bring Mio, Crystal Light, or the similar product of your choice to get the best of both worlds.
