Knightdale, N.C- Bojangles in Knightdale North Carolina has gone viral due to its signature red sign. The sign sparked online attention due to a noticeable typo.
Bojangles Goes Viral
Leandro Gonzalez Espinoza, working nearby with his family’s landscaping business, spotted the error while picking up trash. Doubting his eyes, he confirmed the mistake by Googling the restaurant’s image and name. The red-lettered sign he was looking at read “Bojagnles,” prompting Gonzalez to inform the staff, who seemed unaware.
Gonzalez snapped a photo of the sign and captioned it “Do you see what I see” the post started to gain a lot of attention racking up hundreds of likes and shares in just a few hours. One of the social media shares was from Caitlin Gooch who is the founder of “Saddle Up and Read” a non-profit program that help children with literacy through community programs. Inspired by the post Gooch reached out to Bojangles to collaborate on a program titled “Books and Biscuits” Gooch was surprised to receive a response from the chain restaurant, so we may see a tasty collaboration in the near future.
The restaurant is currently closed for renovations, as indicated by surrounding signs. Gonzalez was the first to notice the error, Gonzalez found the situation hilarious, attributing it to a possible rush during installation. Despite the typo, the incident is humorous and remind us all that sometimes mistakes happen.
