Are you a fan of chicken and waffles? Maybe you have tried out quite a few chicken and waffles in North Carolina and still have not found the BEST! Well, you may have been going to the wrong spot then. Love Food did a study to determine the BEST chicken and waffles in North Carolina. Fortunately for us, it's not too far from Charlotte. When it comes to the perfect balance of sweet and savory, chicken and waffles as a meal is the one to beat. It's the perfect balance for your palette and will leave you wanting more. Whether it's for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner... it's perfect! Love Food took reviews, awards, and first-hand experience from their team to decide the best chicken and waffles in every state.

Who Has the Best Chicken and Waffles in North Carolina?

Well, since they were doing every state of course we had to see what they said about North Carolina. Sadly, it's not here in Charlotte but it is a little close. The best chicken and waffles in North Carolina can be found in Durham, North Carolina. Take a trip to Durham and visit Dame's Chicken & Waffles. Well, the name lets you know they must mean business when it comes to their savory sweet duo. They also have locations in Greensboro and Cary. At Dame's, you can take your chicken and waffles order over the edge by customizing the entire meal. Customize everything from your type of chicken to the flavor of your waffle. Your chicken options include cutlets, wings, or drumsticks. Your waffle options include a classic waffle or sweet potato, gingerbread, or oatmeal vegan. You can also add a shmear of your choice and syrup drizzle of your choice both with a range of options. Talk about building the perfect meal!

If you ever visit Durham, Greensboro, or Cary you have got to give this place a try and then let me know what it tastes like! I am going to Cary in a few months and will for sure be giving them a taste for myself. I would want to build my own, but I may have to visit a few times to try a few variations of options.

Shrimp and grits! How does that sound? As a girl coming from Charleston, South Carolina I already know that shrimp and grits are a staple! It's one of those dishes that if I am with a group of people from my area and it's on the menu, at least two of us are going to order the shrimp and grits. The signature dishes take creamy, cheesy grits with perfectly seasoned shrimp to form a complete masterpiece.

Taste Atlas knows that seafood, shrimp and prawns especially, are some of the most eaten in the world. But, ever wondered what the most popular shrimp and prawns dishes are? Well, with no questions asked, shrimp and grits certainly made their list. The southern staple actually came in at No. 4 on their top list. Which is no surprise to me whatsoever. But, now that we know shrimp and grits are one of the world's most popular shrimp dishes, where to go get some? No worries, I did that work for you! Check out my list below of some of the best places to get shrimp and grits in Charlotte and go give them a try! Some are personal favorites of mine, meanwhile others are on my
must-visit list. Tell me what you think!

Midnight Diner

Listen, if it's one thing Midnight Diner can do is serve up some good food! Not only are the shrimp and grits amazing, but can you imagine having this after a long, fun night out on the town? It's one of those foods that make the ending to a night chef's kiss! Their order of shrimp and grits consists of creamy grits, eight shrimp, veggies, homemade creole sauce, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. WHEWWW!

Flying Biscuit

This was another I felt needed to be added to this list. The Flying Biscuit is serving up an entree order and a mini order of shrimp and grits that you can enjoy. It's creamy white cheddar grits, blackended shrimp, roasted red pepper sauce, and basil. If it's one thing that I love to add on to something, it's basil so they knew what they were doing with this!

Stir

Stir is one of my FAVORITE places to go for brunch. I know we're discussing shrimp and grits, but their breakfast potatoes is truly top tier! You might as well get a side of those while you're there too. The shrimp and grits have mushrooms, green onions, shrimp stock, and white cheddar grits all in one beautiful serving! It's always fun and tasty when the grits are covered in the sauce.

Mimosa Grill

Now this spot I have not personally tried, but it has been on my radar to visit for quite some time. I have heard great things about their food and even their mimosas, so it's certainly a spot I am ready to give a try! The shrimp and grits include smoked tomatoes, charred peppers, baby spinach (my fav), grits, house andouille, and tasso gravy all in a bowl.
