It’s not that they’re hot for Freddy Krueger or the gore he brings, it’s biology. So if you feel aroused after watching a frightening film, you’re not alone. Dr. Holly Richmond, a somatic psychologist and certified sex therapist explains it like this. Something called “horror-induced horniness” has a lot to do with the body’s physiological response to fear. She calls this feeling “sexy scared.” So while it may feel weird to get hot and bothered during a horror movie, it turns out, it’s a totally normal response.
