Science Says Fall is The Best Time For Sex
No more excuses, at least not during the fall! Science says fall is the best time for sex according to Cafe Mom.
Let’s start by saying that sex can be amazing all year-round! But when the weather starts to get colder and daylight saving time ends, it may be even better. According to science, fall is when you significantly boost your chances of having consistently better sex. But why does the season matter to your sex life?
Medical professionals and sex experts explain that it’s because men’s testosterone levels vary with the seasons, but tend to peak in autumn. And that also happens to be when female hormone glands are most active. That’s actually why a lot of babies are born in the summer, since they were conceived during the fall. Plus, since sex increases levels of oxytocin – the love and cuddle hormone – as well as dopamine, which causes you to feel pleasure, having more sex can help with any seasonal depression fall may trigger.
And while we’re on the subject, these are some other things science says can help you feel more satisfied in the bedroom.
- The best time of day to have sex – Everyone is different. However, research finds that 3p.m. is the most ideal time to get it on. That’s when men’s estrogen levels are higher, which makes them want to cuddle more. Women’s cortisol levels are peaking, which means we have more tension to release. The fact that our energy levels are higher only helps, too. The next best time is 7:30a.m., which is when men have more cortisol in their systems.
- How long sex should last – A study of women with stopwatches finds that the average amount of time it takes a woman to reach the big O is around 13.4 minutes. Of course, for men it’s much less, only about five minutes. And research finds that most people are fine with sex lasting between seven and 13 minutes, with two minutes being too short and 10 to 30 minutes pushing it for being too long.
