Fake Bird Leads to Police Chase
It’s a fake bird hahahaha! NJ resident Tim Lynch had good intentions when he spotted a parrot in a tree last week.
He took a photo and sent it to his police officer nephew. The nephew dispatched animal control to rescue the bird because of the poor weather. The responding officer, Jim Ferry, met up with Lynch and the two plotted the parrot’s rescue.
As Ferry approached the bird with a net to catch it, he yelled to Lynch “It’s fake!” Ferry still took the “bird” to safety. He notes “We have a saying in Animal Control that a sick or injured animal is very easy to catch, and this was probably the easiest catch I’ve ever had.”
Now the Princeton PD is having fun with the plastic parrot, which was brought back to the department in a cage. It’s perched inside until the owner is located.
