Company Wants To Use Your Dead Body To Fight Climate Change
Eternal Reefs, a Florida non-profit, wants your body when you die. The company creates a specially designed reef ball with the cremated remains. The remains of a person or pet. They then drop them to the ocean floor to provide marine life with a new ecosystem.
The cremated remains are mixed with the cement used to make reef balls that are dropped into the ocean to allow microorganisms to grow on them. The company says that depending on conditions in the water, reefs could start growing within a few weeks of a reef ball being dropped into the water.
