Beauty trends are cyclical and now some of the looks of the 90s are back in style. And one we didn’t see coming? Skinny eyebrows. Noooo! I worked so hard to grown mine out!

According to Glamour magazine, skinny brows are making a comeback! They were a hit decades ago with famous faces including Linda Evangelista, Gwen Stefani and Drew Barrymore, but they were replaced with big, bushy brows. That’s been the trend for the past decade or so, but ready or not, it seems thin brows are in again.

Model Bella Hadid is leading the return of the skinny-brow trend, although she was never really on the bushy-brow train before. But her look of late, like at this year’s Cannes Film Festival red carpet, shows she’s going for “straight, sharp, super-slim” brows, which emphasize her chiseled bone structure.

Of course, not everyone is ready to embrace thin arches. I am one of them! Plenty of Gen Xers are still trying to grow back the brows they over-plucked many years ago and may still be scarred from the experience. A makeup artist on TikTok, AskEllenBeauty, even posted a video warning followers to “Put the tweezers down,” adding that she’s got “10 years of brow rehab here” as she points to her full eyebrows.

She also posted a video comparing famous women like Priyanka Chopra and the Duchess of Cambridge with big versus skinny brows.
