These Are The Most Common Household Arguments
Living in close quarters with anyone is bound to lead to a disagreement or two, and that’s particularly true for families. But what they fight about may be another story.
A new UK poll, which could easily translate here, finds:
- The average household has 21 arguments each week.
- The average disagreement only lasts about four and a half minutes, although that translates to less than a quarter of an hour each day.
- Women are the most likely person in the house to instigate an argument (20%), compared to men (16%).
- Women are also more likely than men to see themselves as the peacemaker in the house (38% vs. 37%).
So, what are so many folks arguing about in the home?
- Well, the most common sources of disagreements include (click here for all 50):
- Someone leaving all the lights on when they aren’t in the room
- Someone leaving shoes in the middle of the floor/ in the doorway
- Messy bedrooms
- Someone not doing their fair share of the chores
- Not changing the empty toilet roll when the last of it is used
- When the heating should come on
- Squeezing garbage into an already full can rather than emptying it first
- Leaving dirty washing on the floor
- Leaving toilet roll centers on the floor, windowsill etc, i.e. anywhere but the garbage can
