Millennials are finally going to beat another generation in something. Unfortunately, it’s how fast we’re heading to the grave. According to Dr. Zac Turner, things are so bad right now for Millennials in terms of health, we’re on track to have a lower lifespan than Gen X.

What’s killing us? Dr. Turner says “poor mental health, high-calorie diets and lack of exercise have really surged health problems in Millennials.” They are also more likely to have substance abuse issues compared to Gen X at the same age. And to make matters worse, Millennial suicide rates are shockingly high as well.

But the good news is that it’s not too late to turn things like your diet, exercise routine, and mental health around. The other good news is Dr. Turner says our children won’t have to suffer the same fate as us. According to him, new technology like gene therapy, sophisticated diagnostic techniques, and 3D printing have made some huge leaps that could help kids born in the last 10 years live well beyond their 100thbirthday.
