Flight Attendant Reveals What They Are Really Thinking When They Greet You On Plane
Now that more people are getting back on planes, I wanted to share a cool TikTok video I found.
While it may seem nice to be greeted by a flight attendant as you are boarding a plane, that friendly hello has ulterior motives behind it.
In a recent TikTok video, which has been viewed more than 2.8 million times, flight attendant Kat Kamalani revealed the real reason behind that greeting. It’s not just about being nice. She says those working on your flight are actually sizing you up and down to see if you would qualify to be someone who could help if there was an emergency during the flight.
“So when you’re walking on the airplane and you see our happy, smiley face, we’re actually looking you up and down and we are trying to find our ABS and what that is called is our Able-Bodied People, or person,” she says. “So this is people who are going to help us in an emergency.” The best type of people to qualify include military personnel, firefighters, pilots, police officers, nurses and doctors.
Kamalani adds they are also looking for “human traffickin. “It happens a lot in the industry and our passengers’ safety is our number one priority, so we’re just looking for things that look off.”
