Are Eggs Bad For You?
Are eggs good for us or not? It depends on who you ask.
The incredible, edible egg may be causing some long-term issues, even as scientists disagree on whether they’re good or bad for you. A new study of more than 500-thousand people, eating just a portion of the egg with the yolk, can increase the risk of dying. According to PLOS Medicine, the risk of death went up seven percent for each half of egg eaten per day.
However, just last year, a Harvard study of more than 200-thousand people found eating one egg per day showed no increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
The egg study war has been going on for years and here’s why: like the PLOS study, other dietary habits weren’t taken into account and it wasn’t known if, over the years of the study, the subjects made changes to what they ate. They were only asked about eggs once.
We’ll probably never know what the truth is, but you can always follow the saying “everything in moderation.”
