Straight Man Wears Skirts & Heels To Work Because He Wants To
For one man in Germany, a suit and tie just won’t do for work attire, and he doesn’t care what anybody else thinks about it.
Married father of three, Mark Bryan, who’s an American living in Germany, loves to wear skirts and stiletto heels to work, insisting “clothes have no gender.” “I am just a straight, happily married guy,” he explains on his Instagram page where he shows off his looks, “that loves Porsche’s, beautiful women and incorporating high heels and skirts into my daily wardrobe.”
Mark says he likes to mix things up a bit when it comes to gender-specific clothing, which is why he prefers skirts to dresses. He notes, “Dresses don’t allow me to mix the genders. I prefer a ‘masculine’ look above the waist and a non-gendered look below the waist.” As for shoes, he goes with heels from Los Ink, explaining that they, “are great for men as they offer a wide fit in most of their shoes.”
Bryan insists he chooses his clothes for “non-sexual reasons,” and believes that most people don’t really care about his attire, comparing it to someone who goes out with green hair. He explains, “You look up and see this person, your mind tells you it’s a person with green hair, you think to yourself, ‘That’s odd or interesting,’ then you go back to do what you were doing and don’t give it another thought.”
And his family certainly doesn’t seem to mind his non-traditional choice in attire. In fact, he says his wife of 11 years helps pick out his clothing, and his daughter would love to borrow his shoes.
