Florida Man Finds Diamond Ring And Plans To Return It To Owner
Well, this might be a first for my good old home state of Florida! Some good news!
A treasure hunter had his best day ever on a recent trip to Madeira Beach, Florida. Derek Smith hit the beach with his metal detector in hand and he was looking for something specific that day. A woman reached out to him explaining that she’d lost her diamond ring in the area, so he set out to find it.
Luck was on Smith’s side and he found the sparkler buried in the sand in shallow water. He says her name was engraved on the inside of the ring and he estimates it to be worth $10-thousand. He’s going to return the ring to the woman and keep searching for his next big find.
“You go looking for something and you’ll find it,” Smith says of his hobby. “It’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.”
