NYC Dr Offers House Calls With Coronavirus Tests & Botox
New York is expected to start relaxing its ban on non-essential services later this month and one New York City doctor is ready. Dr. Alexander Golberg specializes in non-invasive cosmetic treatments and pain management and he plans to make house calls to rich folks in the Hamptons offering a combo of coronavirus tests and procedures including Botox and fillers.
On his new website he offers a $750 package that includes a coronavirus nasal swab test to see if someone has an active infection, an antibody test that determines if someone’s had the virus before, and an immune-boosting vitamin IV. Golberg says he won’t inject Botox or fillers in anyone with symptoms or offer the procedures until Mid-May, but if the patient is healthy, they can choose from options including a non-surgical facelift, a vampire facial, double-chin removal and lip enhancement.
“Health is the number one concern, but people still want to feel good and look good even if they’re home,” Golberg says, adding that treating patients at home minimizes the risk. But critics are wary of his at-home services, including American Academy of Dermatology president Bruce Thiers, who calls the house calls “dangerous.” He says someone’s home isn’t an inappropriate setting for medical procedures and that anyone being tested for coronavirus isn’t an appropriate candidate for a cosmetic procedure. But Golberg says “there is a demand for this” and he’s simply catering to what his clientele wants.
With how conservative North Carolina has been opening things up we don’t foresee this happening here, but hey…never say never, right? I’m sure there are some people out there after 9 weeks of quarantine that would jump on this offer!
For now…check out his website here.
