Happy bride and groom embracing in the park, wedding day

What the what!??

Not many people would let their husband have a girlfriend, but that’s what one writer did, and now she’s sharing what she learned from the whole experience.

The writer says her husband Jason and her friend Sarah always got along, and their attraction to each other was obvious, so she actually encouraged him to pursue a polyamorous relationship with her. In the end he relationship lasted six months, and Jason came back to her and Sarah married someone else, and the writer learned some interesting things from the experience.

They include:

  • Being a wife, she forgot to be a girlfriend – The writer notes, “I had fallen so diligently into my role as wife, mother, cook, organizer, assistant and spouse that I had forgotten what it was like to be excited to see him whenever he walked into the room.” Seeing him with Sarah made her realize she needed to start treating him like a boyfriend, which caused her to fall in love with him all over again.
  • Sex isn’t as fulfilling if you’re not in love – She writes that while his time having sex with Sarah was “new and exciting,” it was also “unfamiliar,” which made it less fulfilling than having sex with her.
  • It’s good to try new things – Sarah convinced Jason to try new things, like salsa dancing, or watching weird movies, which the writer says allowed him to “loosen up,” and be more comfortable doing the same with her. Sarah also did some new things sexually, which made the writer feel less guilty about not wanting to do them herself.

I think I’ll keep just one woman in my life haha!
