Tech Firm Picks NC over Boston for 400-job Operation
Health-care IT firm Well Dot Inc. has picked Chapel Hill over Boston for a 400-job, $3.1 million operations.
The firm already has 17 employees in Chapel Hill, which would be required to retain in order to get state incentives. The expansion would make Chapel Hill the company’s primary location for its clinical operations staff as well as a hub for other operations such as research and development.
The new jobs, to be created by the end of 2024, would pay average annual wages of more than $63,000. Orange County’s annual wages average just over $46,000. Well, Dot is based in Chapel Hill and Newton, Massachusetts, with offices in Minneapolis and New York City.
I’m very interested to see what other industries North Carolina attracts over other top-ranked cities in America.
