I Took My Son Hiking in Boone and We Found Clues of a Crime… Sort of
After a weekend camping in Boone, my son Dean and I went for a hike at Julian Price Memorial Park. Love this place, right off the Blue Ridge Highway. Dean wanted to play “detective,” so being the great dad I am I played along. He brought his toy gun and a magnifying glass on the walking trails looking for “clues” to a fake crime.
We walked and walked and Dean stopped every 2 minutes looking at “evidence.” Surprisingly we came across something that resembled an actual crime, we found a leaf with blood on it. He said “dad look blood!”
Of course, I blew it off at first, then realized he wasn’t lying! There was a bunch of blood on a green leaf. Like someone used it to wipe an open cut. Dean still thinks the bandit stabbed someone and stole their money. I told him he’s a great detective! Check out some pics…
