A Mother’s Neighbor Demands Breast Milk From Her
How would you feel if your neighbor demanded your breast milk to feed her child?
Well, according to Cafe Mom, the demand was made and it very quickly turned into harassment.
One mother asked for advice by writing to “Dear Prudence” after she did a good deed by offering her breastmilk to another mother who was unable to breastfeed. Sounds like a simple act of kindness, right? Well shortly after it turned into demand and borderline harassment.
It all started when the mom ran into her neighbor (we’ll call her Ashley). Ashley shared her frustrations to her about her not being able to breastfeed, so the mom graciously offered to give her some of her extra breast milk and dropped off four bags. It didn’t end there. Soon the mom said she had more than a dozen texts from her wanting to schedule another drop off for more breast milk. She shared that those texts made it very clear that “Ashley” expected her to provide her with enough breast milk to feed her daughter exclusively.
The generous mom reached out to “Dear Prudence,” asking for advice on how to handle the situation. Prudence advised the mom to disconnect completely from the neighbor and most people would agree but some readers totally blame the mother for the situation. While others made light of it all, one comment stated, “It’s not like she’s asking for your beer.”
What happened to just asking your neighbor for a cup of sugar, folks!
