Man Was Caught Wearing AirPods Upside Down, Internet Goes Crazy
Technology writer, Casey Newtons, spotted a man in San Francisco wearing his Apple AirPods upside down and shared a picture to Twitter…then the Internet went nuts.
AirPods have been popular for nearly 3 years now and with all the meme’s going around on social media we’re used to seeing them. While they still look strange to some people, one guy in San Francisco made them even odder by wearing them upside down, and the internet can’t handle it.
Technology writer, Casey Newtons, spotted the man with the upside down AirPods on the bus and shared a picture on Twitter saying, “Absolutely shaken by the way this man on Muni is wearing AirPods,” and the post went viral fast. It received 26,600 likes and 4,900 retweets, with plenty of people tweeting about the strange sight.

“There’s so much going on here. I have questions,” one person wrote, while another added, “I just tried this and I can’t fathom how it works for him.” But there were also some people who actually approved of the way the man wears them, with one suggesting, “Just tried this and they fit better,” while another added, “It works. Left airpod in right ear. cc @pt sound quality 2X.”

Apple says AirPods should be worn with the tip of it pointed down towards the mouth of the wearer, and there’s a good reason for that. The tip is where the microphone is so when you are using them to talk on the phone it’s closer to your mouth. As an AirPod user myself, I can’t imagine how comfortable wearing them upside down would be.
