Grad Parents Face Up To $1K Fine For Cheering During Graduation
We hope you didn’t plan on cheering out loud during graduation this year, because if so…you could be fined.
An administrator at a high school in South Carolina is not messing around this year at commencement. The school has issued a warning to all graduates and accompanying parties that if their excitement proves a little too disruptive, they will be forced to pay. Empty threat? Greenville High School wishes. Since the event is “under the jurisdiction of the Greenville Police Department,” they are within their rights to issue fines as they see fit. Families that are beaming with pride a little too vocally will have to pay up to $1,030 fine, so hopefully everyone can cheer as they do at the Masters…golf claps only for Greenville’s graduating class of 2018.
