20 Things You Should Know Before Going To Prom
Ladies, we all know how stressful prom can get if you’re not fully prepared! Here are 20 tips to follow so that you’ll have the most enjoyable, stress-free prom ever.
- Remember: it’s NOT the most important of your life!
Prom is a super special night. However, keep in mind that it’s not supposed to be the best night of your life. If you anticipate it to be this fantabulous night filled with magic and sparkles, you’ll only be disappointed. Just go with the flow! Enjoy yourself. - Go with an outfit that’s perfect for YOU…and nobody else.
Never be afraid to be you. Choose a gown, two-piece, or even a pantsuit that’s perfect for you- nobody else! - Pictures – you need them, of course, but don’t wear yourself out.
You’re definitely going to get some great pics! However, don’t take super long stressing over getting pictures. Posing for 2 hours before an event will only leave your body stiff and cheeks sore. Take a few photos and keep it movin’. You’ve got dancing to do! - Plan your hairstyle and makeup before the day of prom.
This is when your time management skills come in handy! Make sure you’ve set up your hair appointment for early in the day. If you plan on getting your makeup done by a MUA, make sure it’s earlier in the day as well. If you’re doing your makeup yourself, try experimenting a couple nights before prom so that the day of you know exactly what to do. - Go light on the makeup!
Less is always more! You’re going to be dancing your life away, hugging people, and possibly sweating. Try going for a look that enhances your features rather than putting on a full face. Eyebrows, lashes, highlight, and lip! That’s all you need to make yourself pop but still have a good night. 😉 - Save ya $$$- Find ways to dress to impress but still save your pockets!!
PSA: YOU’RE PROBABLY ONLY GOING TO WEAR THIS DRESS ONCE. Try finding a gown or outfit that doesn’t break the bank! On the other hand, you can consider buying something that you will make use of in the future – that way you get your bang for your buck. - Save ya $$$- your ride is not that important!
The ride to prom is normally just a few minutes. Squeezing into a super small limo is not worth all of the money. Pile up in someone’s car and blast some music…it’ll be so worth it. We promise! - A date is always wanted..but definitely not necessary.
Having a date to prom seems much more perfect than it actually is! Don’t beat yourself up over having to find a date. Going alone is just as fun. - Bringing a friend as a date is always a good idea.
