South Carolina Dad Takes Daughter’s Bullying Victim On Shopping Trip
Every day, there is another story about bullying at school. One South Carolina father who discovered that his daughter was the aggressor took action to make a change.
Bullying can have serious and lasting effects on both the victim and the perpetrator. For the victim, bullying can lead to a range of negative consequences such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. Victims may also experience difficulties in school, social relationships, and long-term health issues. On the other hand, the bully may also suffer from negative outcomes including academic problems, substance abuse, and delinquent behavior.
According to Upworthy, Randy Smalls of South Carolina, discovered that his teenage daughter was making fun of a classmate over her clothes and makeup. Here’s one of the twists: Smalls’ wife and victim Ryan Reese‘s mother Richauna are friends and had no clue what was going on between the girls.
To teach a lesson to bother girls, Smalls opted to take some money that was earmarked for his daughter and use it to take Ryan on a shopping trip and get her makeup. Smalls’ daughter, who’s into all that stuff, came along and even helped pick out some clothes and accessories for Ryan.
Mom Richauna says her 7th grader had been struggling with some family deaths and seizures when all this was going on, but the day of shopping and beauty was a game changer. The girls are now friends.
