Shaboozey “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” Now Longest-Running No. 1 Hit This Decade
Another country smash hit breaking records! Shaboozey has yet again made his way to another week at No.1 with his breakout record, A Bar Song (Tipsy). The song has now been deemed the longest-running No. 1 hit in this decade and the second longest-running EVER after spending 17 consecutive weeks at No. 1.
Shaboozey Breaks Records
The 29-year-old country artist released the song on April 12, 2024, and is the fourth single from his third studio album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. The song is his country twist on the 2004 song, Tipsy, by J-Kwon. Since its release, Shaboozey has become the first male black artist to chart at number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts at the same time.
A Bar Song has also broken a few other records for the year:
- “A Bar Song” is now the longest-leading song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist with no featured performer
- The song is easily this year’s longest-running chart-topper, ahead of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help”
- The song leads the Hot Country Songs chart for the 21st week, the longest reign this year and one of eight songs to spend that many weeks atop the chart
The country smash hit has also landed Shaboozey multiple GRAMMY nominations. He is up for Best New Artist and the song is up for Song of the Year, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance.
Now, Shaboozey is gearing up to release his next song following the success of A Bar Song. His new song, Good News, releases tomorrow (11/15).
