
Over the last few years, it seems like everyone is moving to the South. That includes North and South Carolina. Well, one South Carolina City is one of the fastest growing cities in the country! That's right. Fort Mill South Carolina is one of the fastest growing cities, it landed at 13 on Newsweek's growing cities list.
A lot of cities in the region continued to have the largest population growth in the country, according to the latest numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Their data shows Texas alone is home to eight of the 15 fastest-growing cities in the South, including number one on the list, Celina. Their population grew by 26.6% in 2023, which is 53 times faster than the growth rate of the country (0.5%).
The city that saw the biggest population increase in the U.S. last year is San Antonio, Texas. They got 21,970 new residents between July 1st, 2022 and July 1st, 2023, leaving San Antonio’s population close to 1.5-million. Fort Worth, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; Jacksonville, Florida, and Port St. Lucie, Florida round out the top five cities with the largest increase in population in 2023.

South Carolina Has 2 Of The Most Expensive Beach Towns In The Nation
For a lot of us, it doesn’t get better than spending our summer vacation at the beach. Unfortunately, South Carolina has 2 of the most expensive beach towns in the nation. While there are a lot of coastal cities to choose from, these destinations can be pretty pricey. But it really all depends on where you go. Solana Beach, California is north of San Diego. It's a super safe town, and the beach is long with great water temperatures. The average rental home costs $4,372 a week.
