Change is an inevitable part of life even if sometimes we want our favorite things to stay the same.  However, with the announcement that a major steak house chain is making menu changes in North Carolina, comes celebration.  Ruth's Chris Steak House is who we're talking about.

And, these changes sound yummy!  Famous steak house chain Ruth's Chris Steak House in South Park and Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina announced some tweaks to the popular menu.  According to a statement from Prime Hospitality Group President Kristy Rans, "Items that were added to the menu further emphasize our dedication to continually providing unique experiences and delicious cuisine for our guests."

So, among the additions we expect to see a Berkshire Pork Chop, Lobster VooDoo, a seafood tower and gumbo.  There are more additions, including a catch of the day and hashbrowns.  The seafood tower seems to be a trend among fine dining steak houses these days.

I first noticed the item on a visit to another South Park chain spot, Steak 48.  And, this one sounds wonderful.  In looking at the Ruth's Chris Steak House menu, I see it includes Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab legs, jumbo shrimp, colossal lump crabmeat.  And, the Lobster VooDoo is described as succulent lobster, lightly fried, tossed in a spicy cream sauce and served with a tangy cucumber salad.

Plus, the new Seafood Sausage Gumbo is a traditional take on the classic New Orleans dish we love with andouille sausage and seafood.  Furthermore, the Berkshire Pork Chop is a whopping 16 oz. double bone-in chop!  Finally, the hashbrowns come fully loaded!  Sign me up.   And, I love that all the Ruth's Chris favorites are still around, too.

Also, it seems there's talk of adding some new cocktails.  So, now that the holidays are upon us it's worth giving an old favorite a new try.  Check their website to browse the new menu and make reservations.  See WSOC for more on the story.

Yelp Says This Is The Best Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse In Charlotte And I Agree (It’s The Best I’ve Ever Been To)

With so many trendy restaurants opening up I feel like hibachi restaurants don't get the same love they once did. They were the place to go for special occasions. And despite maybe not having quite the draw they once did, they are still at the top of my list. I've tried several throughout Charlotte, in Raleigh where I went to college (Go Pack!), in Myrtle Beach, and even in Turks & Caicos. But I've never found one that compared to what was always my family's go-to. We went there every New Year's Eve for years and for other family birthdays and special occasions. But is my top choice the best or am I just biased? I decided to consult Yelp, to see what their reviewers thought was the best hibachi steakhouse in Charlotte.

But with so many of these types of restaurants and the same go-to tricks we've all seen. You know the onion volcano, the shrimp in the hat, the heart made out of rice. While the element of surprise isn't there, the light-hearted fun is. Admit it, dinner and a show just hits differently. What makes my favorite hibachi restaurant my favorite? Simply put is that it's one of only two I've ever been to that give you both rice and noodles. And as a carb lover, that's the way to my heart. Keep reading to see the top 5 hibachi Japanese steakhouses in Charlotte according to Yelp. Note that only cook-in-front-of-you true hibachi-style restaurants were included on this list. You can see the full reviews on Yelp here.

5. Fuji Japanese Steakhouse

Address: 14126 Rivergate Pkwy #400, Charlotte, NC 28273

Fuji Japanese Steakhouse is located in the Rivergate shopping center which is in the Steele Creek area of Charlotte. I have actually been here once when I was a camp counselor on Lake Wylie for the summer. I remember it being a good meal, and a fun atmosphere and if I'm in the area again I'd definitely give it another try!

4. Red Ginger

Address: 401 S Tryon St #130, Charlotte, NC 28202

I went to Red Ginger once last year for a birthday party. My only complaint (and a nonissue now that I know) is that I was extremely confused as to where to park. For future reference it's in a deck across the street! Red Ginger may actually be my second favorite hibachi restaurant as, you guessed it, they serve you both rice and noodles. Elite status right there.

3. Japan 49

Address: 10920 Winds Crossing Dr, Charlotte, NC 28273

Japan 49 is actually the only restaurant on this list I wasn't familiar with. But according to their menu all entrees come with soup and green salad, assorted vegetables, noodles, and white or fried rice. So I am adding this to my list to try! They are also located in Steele Creek near the intersection of South Tryon and Carowinds Blvd.

2. Kabuto

Address: 446 Tyvola Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217, 7724 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226, 1001 E W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28213, 16516 Northcross Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078

If you have lived in Charlotte for any length of time chances are you've tried Kabuto. It's got 4 area locations and is always a popular choice. It's good and I would never turn down a chance for any hibachi!

1. Nakato

Address: 8601 University Executive Park Dr, Charlotte, NC 28262, 8500 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226

If you were keeping track, you probably figured out what my favorite and the top-rated hibachi restaurant in Charlotte according to Yelp reviewers is. It's been my favorite since I was in elementary school, and has remained a favorite to this day. I think I'm going to have to plan a trip there soon. Does anyone have a birthday you want to celebrate?
