Ever wonder what your holiday drink choice says about you? When you’re enjoying a cocktail or two with friends, family and coworkers this holiday season, keep in mind that what you drink can reveal a lot about who you are. Patrick Pistolesi, Master Mixologist at NIO Cocktails shared his thoughts with the NY Post. He says your drink order can show whether you’re the life of the party or more of a mysterious observer.
Here’s what he suggests you sip on at your office holiday party based on your personality.
- Mocktails - The Go-Getter. Those who go for booze-free drinks tend to be very responsible and are typically the first one to leave, according to this expert. Pistolesi recommends they order a Lemongrass Citrus, Ginger Sour or Gimless.
- Bitter cocktails - The Creative. These kinds of drinks are “particularly popular” with office millennials who are part of the creative team. “Despite the name of the cocktail, you have a warm, sweet side that people naturally gravitate towards,” the mixologist says. He suggests an Espresso Martini, Milano Torino or Spiced Negroni.
- Sweet cocktails - The Life of the Party. This party person should order a Daiquiri, Strawberry Margarita or Gin Proved. They like to be in the center of the action and are known to keep the party going.
- Vodka - The Socialite. They enjoy big nights out and sipping on a Vodka Sour, Vodka Martini or a classic Cosmopolitan.
- Whiskey - The Conversationalist. These types like to talk and get into deep conversations. They are known for giving great advice. Whiskey on the rocks, Boulevardier or an Old Fashioned are recommended.
- Tequila - The Funniest. Tequila drinkers are the loudest and funniest people in the office and they never get embarrassed, according to Pistolesi. He suggests they order a Margarita, Tequila Sunrise or Tequila Sour.
- Wine - The Sensible One. Our expert says these wine drinkers are serious, but like to avoid conflict and find middle ground, both at work and socially. They love to be surrounded by interesting conversations and should be sipping a Bellini, White Wine Spritzer or Sangria.
This Is North Carolina’s Favorite Christmas Movie
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Time to throw on our favorite Christmas movies over and over again. Today's Home Owner has come up with each state's favorite Christmas movie. The classic flick; “A Christmas Story” is the most popular Christmas movie in America, according to the study. 24 states in total have that movie as its favorite. This is also North Carolina's favorite Christmas movie according to the results.
I checked out the whole map of the country. There weren't any real surprises. Maybe one the weirdest things comes from the state of Indiana. That state likes “Elf” over “A Christmas Story.” Why is that weird? Well “A Christmas Story” takes place in the fake town of Hohman, Indiana! Sooo it should be a favorite of theirs!
“Elf,” starring SNL alumn Will Farrell, wasn’t far behind “A Christmas Story.” It was the holiday favorite in 11 states. Buddy the Elf’s Christmas spirit is way over the top in the film. That gives fans across America plenty of quotable moments.
Another classic Christmas movie is “Home Alone,” a favorite in four states, followed by “It’s a Wonderful Life” a favorite in three. “Die Hard” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” tied with two states ranking it as their favorite Christmas movie.
Even though “A Christmas Story” was the favorite in most states, the overall percentages between the movies were much closer. “Elf” was just 1.6 percentage points behind, and “Home Alone” was less than 4% away from the top spot despite being the top in only four states.
If cartoons are your thing, you have good company: 4.1% of Americans chose “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” as their favorite Christmas flicks. My favorite cartoon? "The Year Without Santa. Hands down." Who doesn't love the Mizer Brothers?
Where is Christmas Vacation in all of this? It came in #1 in only one state, Nebraska!
Here's the top movies from each state.
