The Chiefs Popularity Is Booming Here’s How Many Followers They Gain When Taylor Swift Shows Up At A Game
I’m 100% biased in this as I am a die-hard Taylor Swift fan. Throughout the last 16 years, I’ve watched her date several notable men, and I’ve watched the rumor mill try to link her with others. But there is just something different about her with Kansas City Chief’s star tight end Travis Kelce. Taylor showed up at his game a few weeks ago and the media has gone wild over the couple ever since. It’s easy to see why. They are absolutely adorable together. She looks genuinely happy and quite honestly smitten with him. And he seems to adore her for exactly who she is and has no problem letting her shine. And when you’re the biggest star in the world, anything you are linked to is going to see a boost in popularity. The Kansas City Chiefs are no exception to the Taylor Swift effect.
The Chiefs were already on top of the world. They are the reigning Super Bowl Champions, have the best quarterback in the league in Patrick Mahomes, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. That success brings bandwagon fans of course. Having engaging personalities on any football team can also bring in new fans. Heck, even here in Charlotte we saw that when Cam Newton and the Panthers went on their Super Bowl run. But the Kansas City Chiefs bandwagon is picking up fans faster than ever thanks to the Travis Kelce Taylor Swift relationship. Just how many? Well glad you asked!
According to the pop culture experts at Averagebeing the Kansas City Chiefs gain an average of 18,000 new fans every time Taylor Swift attends a game. They looked at the Instagram accounts of Kansas City Chiefs (@chiefs), the NFL (@NFL), and Travis Kelce (@killatrav) to see how their followings rose on average the day after Taylor attended each Chiefs game. According to their data, the Kansas City Chief’s Instagram gains an average of 18,383 each time Taylor appears at a game. Additionally, the NFL account gained an average of 12,839 followers. That one surprises me. As a fan of any and all football (I will and do watch any game), I’m not sure I’m even following the NFL.
But the biggest increase of course is seen by Kelce himself. An average increase of 124,090 followers. Will this trend continue? It has to slow down at some point I’d assume. Eventually all the Swifties who are going to follow the Chiefs will I would think. Or perhaps people are waiting for the couple to post themselves. We all (myself included) seem to go crazy for sightings of the star at the games. I love seeing her outfits for sure. And watching her cheer on Kelce, and seemingly fall in love with a sport I love has been fun.
I’ve always found Patrick Mahomes likeable, my college team has a player on the Chiefs (shout out Joe Thuney and NC State football), and I did cheer for the team last year in the Super Bowl. But I’m definitely activiely cheering them on and seaking out their games this year. You can thank Taylor and Travis for that. And the fact that my two main teams are tragically terrible this year. I need something postiive to cheer for! So go Chiefs and go Taylor and Travis. I’m rooting for you. I hope this is “End Game” for the both of you. Taylor you’ve done a lot of great things in your life, and now you’re getting the chance to date “the boy on the football team”. Enjoy it. You deserve it and the world.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce: Cute Photos Of Them Together
The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce romance continues, and more cute photos of them emerged this weekend.
They already had what some call a “hard launch” of their relationship when they showed on on Saturday Night Live last week. Taylor has been to four Kansas City Chiefs games. She went to the first one against the Bears in Arrowhead, then went to the Chiefs/Jets game when they played at Met Life Stadium, and then she was at the Thursday night game when the Chiefs played the Broncos and the Chiefs vs Chargers game yesterday.
It was a whirlwind few weeks for Taylor, as her movie, officially called Taylor Swift: The Ears Tour Movie broke major records. I got to see it yesterday and it’s incredible. Also, make a note that it is three hours long just like the real concert. Taylor was in LA for the Eras Tour Movie premiere then she flew right to Kansas City Thursday morning for Travis’ game on Thursday night. Then they flew to NYC together, stayed there for the weekend. She then flew from NYC to LA and Travis went from LA to Philly for the Phillies game with Jason Kelce and then back to Kansas City just in time to record his “New Heights” podcast on Tuesday, which comes out on Wednesdays.
And to think, it all started when Taylor Swift brought The Eras Tour to Arrowhead in Kansas City, Travis revealed on his New Heights podcast that he went to the show and that he made her a friendship bracelet with this phone number. He wanted to give it to her, but unfortunately, she didn’t meet him. Turns out she did meet him after all. In fact, during a press conference this week, Travis said he had the mustache the first time he met Taylor, which means if you’re following the timeline of their relationship, they met in the beginning of August. Check out the adorable pics below.
