Woman Wrote A Book About Grief Following Husbands Death, Then Get’s Charged With His Murder
Grief is a crippling emotion that we all face at multiple points in our life. People have a multitude of ways they cope with grief. I tend to turn to music, other people turn to friends, therapy, working out, and many times writing. That’s what a Utah woman did when her husband past away “unexpectedly” in 2022. WFLA reports that Eric Richins was found dead back in March 2022 at the foot of the couple’s bed. His wife Kouri was the one who found him.
An autopsy determined Eric passed due to fentanyl, he had 5 times the lethal dose in his system. To “cope with grief,” Kouri wrote a children’s book on the subject. You can read about that book here. Turns out that Kouri’s need for grief was most likely self-inflicted as she has now been charged with Eric’s murder. According to court records, Kouri Richine was arrested on May 8th. She is charged with aggravated murder as well as three counts of possession of drugs with the intent to distribute per court records. Isn’t it ironic?
The spouse is almost always the first suspect in a murder, I don’t know what the odds of getting away with it are, but they can’t be high. If she is found guilty I hope she gets the maximum sentence. And even more, I feel for the couple’s children who have to suffer because of the horrific actions their mother is accused of.
