Halsey and Boyfriend Alev Aydin Break Up, Will Co-Parent Son
Halsey and Alev Aydin are calling it quits after more than three years of dating. “It’s an amicable split,” a source told People. The “Bad At Love” singer and the screenwriter welcomed their son, Ender Ridley in July 2021.
Despite their breaking up, the two are “planning to co-parent,” the source adds. According to court documents filed by Halsey, 28, she filed a petition to determine the parental relationship on April 5. She has asked the court for full physical custody of their 21-month-old son and requests that “reasonable visitation” be awarded to her former partner. Sources told Billboard that the filing was simply a “formality” to allow Halsey to freely travel with their son as a touring artist. The Grammy-nominated artist is also asking for the court to award joint legal custody and for fees of costs and litigation to be split between both parties.

The pair were first linked when they were spotted together at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2019. Since then, the couple attended many Lakers games together. Halsey’s last Instagram post of Alev was in February this year for Valentine’s Day. She wrote, “ya’aburnee,” which is a song by the artist that translates from Arabic to, “you bury me.” Alev is Turkish-American.
As we previously reported, Halsey met Alev because he was going to write her biopic back in 2021. A fan shared a screenshot of a 2018-dated article about the singer’s movie announcement on Twitter asking, “This lives in my mind, rent free. Why did this never happen???” Halsey responded, “bc alev was supposed to be writing it the past 3 years and we slowly fell in love instead. you know the rest!”
